Double Happiness

Double Happiness centres around a restless search for home, both actual and conceptual. The dramaturgy of this show follows immigrant stories by tracing the migration pattern of the Chinese diasporic community as they have moved from Southern China to Hong Kong and finally landing in the Pacific Northwest.

A Little Detour is a 30-minute short film part of the multimodal output of this research project. A version of A Little Detour with creative captioning  by Emily Cheung is available here.

Double Happiness: Detour This Way is an ambitious theatricalized song cycle that stages 13 original songs, recorded interviews, live foley, live and recorded video work, and performance vignettes. For more information on our collaborators please visit www.happinesshappiness.ca
