Crux (2015) for solo clarinet

My interest in soundscape compositions led me to creating aural scores heard only by the performer. The third movement of Crux for solo clarinet utilizes an aural score with a supplementary word score. Franscois Houle listens to a soundscape composition I prepared for him on headphones, which he follows as a score while he plays. At the same time, the word score before him informs his attention, prompting him to listen specifically to particular actions and frequencies playing into his ears. Field recordings used in the aural score were collected in Amsterdam in December 2014.
